Hikes, Tours & Tastings

Join MALT on one of our Hikes, Tours & Tastings and get to know the celebrated farms and ranches of West Marin. Many MALT-protected working farms are not open to the general public. Our events offer you a way to experience these vibrant rural places and connect with your food and farmers. 

Pre-registration is required for all MALT Hikes, Tours & Tastings, and recommended for other events. To sign up for an event, click the Register button on the event listing or call MALT at 415.663.1158. If you have any questions, please email us at events@malt.org. An Afternoon with Owls

Afternoon with Owls

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

Join us on Moore Ranch, a MALT-protected farm, for a magical afternoon for the whole family. Owls play many important roles on farms and ranches, and these places in turn are critical to helping owls thrive today. To help us learn about these fascinating birds, the Hungry Owl Project will guide us on a hike through this beautiful cattle ranch and through an exciting live owl presentation. Delightful kids activities will be on hand.

Date: Saturday, May 10 (rain cancels; please call hotline to confirm at 415-663-1338)

Time: 1–4 p.m.

Place: Moore Ranch, Nicasio

Cost: $30 members/$40 nonmembers/$10 kids 12 and under

What to Bring: Water, lawn chair or blanket, boots for mud walking

Difficulty Level: Short, easy stroll

Age Appropriate: 6 years and over

Carbon Farm Tour

Come learn about the fascinating farms of the future—carbon farms. See and experience how these farms work and why they will play an important role in fighting climate change. Join MALT staff, farmers and the Marin Carbon Project for a tour and lunch to learn how these farms benefit the planet while creating delicious local food.
