MALT Membership Events
In adddition to the other benefits that we offer our members, MALT hosts special events each year as a special benefit for donors which provide additional opportunities to connect to the land and hear the latest MALT news.
A sample of our member events is below. To see a current list of all upcoming events, visit our events page.
The Directors' Barbecue is a truly special event held each fall for members at the Conserver ($2,000-$4,999) level and higher.
This event is held annually on a MALT-protected property and offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appreciate the beauty of one of MALT's ranches while enjoying a farm-fresh meal sourced from our "MALT-ed" producers. Recent events were held at Stemple Creek Ranch in Tomales, Cow Track Ranch in Nicasio and Jensen Ranch in Tomales. Here you can view a slideshow of photos from the 2015 event.
Member Hike on a MALT-Protected Ranch
Our members-only hikes on MALT-protected ranches are held annually in the late spring as a benefit for current giving members.
Every year, we invite members and their families to explore a ranch that is normally closed to the public. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a guided hike, mingling with other MALT supporters while hearing about the ranch's history and rich ecology.
In 2016 we explored both Black Mountain Ranch, protected by MALT since 1993, and Gallagher North Bend Ranch, protected in 2016, near Point Reyes Station.
Meet the locals
Current members at the Benefactor level ($1,000-$1,999) receive an invitation to MALT's spring cocktail reception, Meet the Locals, which offers supporters the opportunity to hear directly from a local farmer or rancher as well as MALT's Executive Director. Held in east Marin, the event includes delicious local food and drink, and a chance to mingle with other passionate MALT supporters.
